Hi, my name is Emily, and I've had
several experiences with the paranormal. I don't remember exactly when
it was that I started being able to feel the presence of "others" and
having dreams or daydreams that would later come true, but it's been
happening for years now. I can walk into a room and immediately sense
if something else is in there. I don't tell many people about it, as
they usually think I'm nuts, but there are three experiences I won't
hesitate to share.
The first of these experiences happened in the autumn of 2000. I was 14
years old, and had recently been baptised. I was at a Youth Group
retreat with my (former) church, at a camp in the mountains, and there
were several other kids there as well as the pastor, his wife, and a
few other adults. From the first night, I felt uncomfortable in the
cabin that had been assigned to the girls. There was a bear skin hung
on the wall, across from the sofa where I was sleeping, and its blank
stare really creeped me out. The second night, we had a campfire and
marshmallow roast. I mentioned to the other teenage girl, who I was
friends with, that I felt like there was something in the cabin. This
girl wanted to prove to me that the cabin wasn't haunted or anything,
so we left the campfire to go check it out. The girl, "R", had been
dabbling in witchcraft, and she took a white candle and burned two red
leaves over it, and I'm still not sure what this was all about. When I
later told this story to my Wiccan friend, a look of horror crossed her
face, and apparently burning red leaves over any candle can summon a
demon if the witch is inexperienced or, God forbid, wants to summon
one. So, as the red leaves burnt, something hit the cabin with a huge
BANG, shook everything and scared us half to death. The lights also
went out, though this may have been more of a "psychic" lights out than
a physical one. I totally, completely, lost my mind and bolted out the
door. I ran back to the campfire, and told the pastor that there was
something in the cabin and that he needed to come quickly, and then ran
back to the cabin to make sure "R" was alright. She was walking towards
me, and she was saying in a very bizarre, high-pitched voice that "It's
alright, there's nothing in there, it's gone now..." and I saw that she
had NO PUPILS. I remember the blank look very clearly, and writing that
sentence just made me start shivering all over again. The pastor and
the other adults got to the cabin, and I don't know if any of them
saw/felt the black aura around it, but I sure did. The pastor performed
a basic exorcism, and "R" stumbled, as if she was a puppet with its
strings cut. I don't think the adults noticed her, just the cabin.
Anyways, the exorcism apparently worked, but I insisted on sleeping
next to the pastor's wife that night. "R" left the church shortly
afterward, and I saw her at school occasionally but we sort of lost
contact, and then she left the school. I don't know where she is now,
but I hope she is doing alright.
The second happening was while I walked up a staircase, in a stairwell.
I don't remember exactly where this was, but the stairwell hallway was
painted white, the railing was either red or green painted metal, and
the stairs were concrete. I misstepped, and as I felt myself beginning
to fall backward, I thought "I'm not going to survive this fall." Right
as the gravity began to pull me down, a hand pressed itself firmly into
my back, and pushed me back onto the step. I continued to the top of
the stairway and stood at the top for a moment, looking down. I
remember saying "Thank you" to whoever it was.
The third happened just recently, while I was in the downstairs of my
boyfriend's house. I was playing the video game Dance Dance Revolution,
and I was the only one in the room. Someone put their hand on my left
side, just above the waistline of my pants. It wasn't meant to push me
down or anything malicious, just to let me know that she was there. I
got a very distinct flash that it was a she, and then she was gone. I
told my boyfriend what had happened, and surprisingly he actually
believed me. Good man, hehe. She's been down there on occasion since
then, poked me once, but I don't think she is attached to the house.
Maybe an object in the house, maybe it's me that she is following.
Maybe I should carry a cassette recorder with me and try recording an
EVP next time she's down there with me.
Thanks for providing this opportunity for me to share my experiences
with others! It's nice to know I'm not alone (I never thought I was,
really), and comforting to know that others can sense things the same
way I can.
